In third grade, I had a fun project in school called the toy company. The goal of this project was to make a prototype toy and “advertise” it to the rest of the class. The toy had to be original and fun. I decided to make a toy called planogami, which was an origami paper airplane kit. The prototype kit included paper and instructions on how to make 4 different paper airplanes. It also had instructions for a few paper airplane games I had created! Everyone in my class made a setup at their desk to advertise their product. I taught people in the class how to make the airplanes and play the games, and it was very fun. I also created a little website called planogami, where I showed all the instructions and games that could be found in the kit. Below are some pictures of the project:
These are some pictures of origami I made when I was younger. I’ve been interested in origami since I was five-six years old, and these pictures include some I made way back then. I initially started folding boats, cranes and fortune tellers and later moved to complex paper planes and then modulars. My favorite types of origami were modular pieces, and pieces that could move. I really enjoyed being able to make myself a toy out of a single square piece of paper! I also made lots of flowers and a few animals in nature. Overall, I was really open to different types of origami and excited to try new things in the field.
