Morning Gloies II

The book Origami Flowers by Soonboke Smith, is a very interesting read. Of the many flowers listed in the book, one type I made are called Morning Glories II. There is also just Morning Glories in the book, but these are the second version. They are very beautiful when you put them in a plant. You could also use patterned paper for your flowers.

One of the things I found hard when making this piece was folding a flap into thirds. I had to guess the thirds instead of measuring because it was a triangle that I was folding into thirds. Another hard part was collapsing this pocket. I didn’t understand how to do it, but after several tries, I figured it out.

All in all, this was a really simple and fun origami project. I made a hexagonal base, which is something I have never done before, and involved cutting, I also liked potting the flowers in a fake plant. This is a really nice piece of decoration that you could make and put in your room! I think that this was a really wonderful origami project, and I highly recommend that you try it out!
